No — you can browse and view any listing without an account. You only need to be logged in to place a bid, and a free account is what lets you save listings to your watchlist.

Sign up through the login button in the navbar. Verifying your email afterward earns you +20 points toward your rank.

Six quick tasks new users can complete for bonus points: pick a profile DP (+5), complete your profile with display name and state (+10), verify your identity by email or social sign-in (+20), like a listing (+5), save your first listing to watchlist (+10), and place your first bid (+30). Finish all six for a +50 bonus on top.

No. Any logged-in account can place a bid right away — there is no rank or point requirement to start bidding.

Above the current floor price, and by at least the listing's minimum increment. The interface will block bids that don't meet either.

Bids lock after a 10-second grace period for typo correction — tap the ✕ next to your bid amount to undo it with no penalty. After the grace period ends, bids are final. Swap offers have their own 10-minute grace window and are blocked from withdrawal in the final hour of a listing. Retracting a bid or a swap offer outside its grace window counts toward the same daily D2 (Retraction Spam) demerit limit — 3 free per day, then penalties apply.

Any bid placed in the last 60 seconds automatically extends the countdown by 30 seconds, so no one can "snipe" a win in the final moment. This capping applies until 2:30 AM MYT during the nightly dead zone (see below).

The highest bidder wins. Both the winner and the seller are notified and move into the post-auction handshake process — see that section for what happens next.

Yes: +3 per valid bid (capped at 5/day), +5 if you're the first bid within an hour of listing, and milestone bonuses at your 10th (+10), 50th (+30) and 100th (+50) lifetime bid. Bidding on the same listing more than once in a day earns 0 extra points after the first.

Place at least one valid bid every day for 7 days straight and you earn +3/day plus a +10 bonus on day 7. Requires Explorer rank or higher.

Between 3:00–5:00 AM MYT, listings that would end are auto-extended to 5:01 AM, and no new listings, bids, or swaps can be placed between 2:45–5:00 AM MYT. It keeps outcomes fair when most users are asleep.

Tap "Create Listing," add your item's title, description, category and condition, set a starting price (and optionally a Buy It Now or Reserve price), pick a duration, and upload up to 5 photos. You'll get a unique listing code, QR code, and shareable link.

You can choose 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, or 24 hours, and you can have up to 5 active listings at once.

A "Listing Optimization" bonus (+5, up to twice a week) applies when your listing has 3+ images and a description of 150+ characters. All required fields (title, category, duration, condition, starting price) must also be completed.

Depends on bids: if the listing has 0 bids, you can cancel it instantly with no penalty. Once there's a bid, the listing can no longer be cancelled — the auction runs to its end.

Yes — points for listing an item (once it gets a valid bid), for the optimization bonus above, for a "Bidding War" (3+ unique qualified bidders), for receiving a first bid within an hour, for sale milestones (5th/30th/60th item sold), and a weekly "Fresh Stock" streak bonus for Hunter+ sellers who list regularly.

Instead of a cash bid, you can offer an item from your own locker to trade for the listing. The seller can choose a cash winner or a swap winner as the winning outcome.

Yes — you can offer the same item to as many listings as you want. The lock only triggers when a seller clicks [Accept Swap] on your offer; at that point the offered items are reserved for that trade and cannot be offered elsewhere. If the seller changes their mind, your items are released back to active.

Yes — from the listing you can retract your own swap offer, and from your Profile you can withdraw all offers for a given item. Withdrawals within 10 minutes of placing the offer are free. After that, each withdrawal counts toward your 3 free daily retractions (shared with cash bid retractions). Withdrawals are blocked during the final hour of a listing, so sellers can rely on the offers shown when choosing an outcome.

You choose — accepted swaps can be set to public or private visibility on your profile.

Yes. A "swap selection" is the seller choosing a swap offer to close the deal with. You get 3 free swap selections per week (Monday to Sunday, Malaysia time); every selection from the 4th onward in the same week triggers a "swap selection spam" demerit (10 points each), so use them intentionally. Placing swap offers is unlimited.

The seller has 18 hours to choose the outcome — cash deal or swap deal — before the anti-ghosting system kicks in.

The system generates a 6-digit PIN once the seller picks the outcome. The buyer is shown the PIN and a QR code. Only the seller can enter the PIN to confirm the trade happened — it's BidSwap's way of confirming a trade without needing a payment processor.

72 hours from when the outcome is chosen.

If there's no response, the deal can move on to the next highest bidder — this is a manual step the seller triggers one bidder at a time, available once 48 hours have passed since the auction ended. You can also file a Report Ghost, which is a separate track that penalizes a confirmed no-show after a 72-hour response window — see Demerits & Rules.

Automatically available 48 hours after the auction ends — it's purely time-based, and the seller triggers it manually from that point on. It does not require the original winner to fully ghost through the entire 72-hour window or explicitly decline first; those are two separate, independent mechanisms.

The seller, the winner, the top 3 bidders, and anyone who made a swap offer. Everyone else loses chat access once the auction closes.

BidSwap has a mutual cancellation system — either the seller or the buyer/swap partner can request to dissolve the deal during the 72-hour trade window. If the other party accepts, the deal is cancelled cleanly with no demerits for either side. Swap items are freed back to your locker. The listing status changes to 'Cancelled (Mutual)' and the item is free to be listed again from scratch. Your private chat with the other party stays open for 7 days after the cancellation so you can arrange to meet and settle up outside the app — only the two of you keep access, and the thread goes read-only after that.

Not in demerits. Mutual cancellation adds no demerit points and does not affect rank for either party. The only merit adjustment is that the seller's +10 listing award for that item is returned, so the cancelled listing leaves no net merit gain; the buyer or swap partner loses nothing. The system is simply acknowledging that sometimes logistics do not work out and both sides should be able to walk away cleanly.

48 hours. If the other party doesn't respond within that time, the request automatically expires and the deal stays active. You can send a new request after it expires, so long as you stay within the usage limits.

Yes — you can have at most 3 pending requests across all your deals at once, and at most 3 completed mutual cancellations in a 30-day period. These limits exist to keep the system from being overused. Your profile's Activity Summary shows how many you have initiated in the last 30 days.

No — completed listings stay visible on the browse page for 7 days after resolution.

A trust score built from genuine activity on the platform. They cannot be bought — only earned through real use, like bidding, selling, completing trades, and being a good community member.

Display pictures and frames unlock as you rank up. You start with the basic DPs and a colour picker; rank DPs unlock at Explorer, Hunter, Challenger, Champion, Ace, Elite, Tycoon and Legend, and frames unlock at Explorer (Bronze), Challenger (Silver), Ace (Gold) and Tycoon (Diamond).

The Newcomer Checklist (+50 for completing all 6 tasks), your first bid (+30), and a daily login streak (+2/day, +5 bonus on day 7) add up quickly in the first week.

Yes — sharing an external win showcase earns +10 (up to 4/month) once your referral hits Explorer rank, and a full active-friend referral earns +50 (up to 3/month) once they reach Hunter.

Yes. Violations like bid retraction spam, harassment, trade ghosting, or listing prohibited items all carry demerit penalties. Full breakdown is on the Rules page.

They decay by 5 points per week (the counter resets each Monday, checked each time you log in), so a one-time slip-up fades — but repeated violations stack faster than they decay.

Consequences escalate in tiers, from a rank demotion and warning banner, up to a temporary suspension, then a critical-standing lock, and ultimately a permanent ban for the most severe or repeated violations. Listing anything illegal is an instant permanent ban regardless of your history.

Use the Report option on a listing, chat, or profile. Valid reports earn you +15 points (up to 2/week, Hunter rank required), and for provable violations the offender also loses 15 points as a penalty — BidSwap wants people to help keep the marketplace honest. Ghosting is report-only: without escrow it cannot be proven, so it carries the D5 demerit but no merit penalty.

Yes — pick a color and a display picture from the pools unlocked at your rank, and a frame around it once you're Explorer or higher.

Yes, you can toggle your profile between public and private in your account settings.

Yes — likes from Explorer+ users count toward milestone bonuses at 10, 30, 60, and 90 likes. Removing a like decrements your counter, so toggling the same like repeatedly won't help you complete the Newcomer Checklist.

Check your inbox after registering for a verification email from BidSwap and click the link. This earns +20 points.

Yes — link Google and Facebook from the Connected Accounts tab on your Profile. Linking is free and adds no extra Merit points (identity verification is a single +20 whether you verify by email or sign in socially); it just gives you more ways to log in.

Use the watchlist star on any listing. Your first save earns +10 points, and milestone bonuses are based on how many different sellers you have saved from: +5 at 5 sellers, +15 at 20 sellers, and +30 at 50 sellers (the tracker stops counting after 50).

Submit a ticket from the Feedback page — you'll get a threaded view where you can track admin responses.

Open your Profile, then select the Danger Zone tab — the last tab on the right of the tab bar. Type your exact username to confirm. This is permanent and cannot be undone — you will lose all listings, items, rank, and history. If your account is banned or suspended, self-deletion is blocked; contact support instead.
